5 Super Cool British Cars

If money were no object, and you could buy any luxury car you wanted, what car would you buy? As a big fan of British cars, my personal top five would look something like this:

McLaren P1

Not only is the McLaren P1 a cool sexy beast, it is also a hybrid supercar. Therefore, it not only ticks the luxury box, it ticks the green one as well. This concept car first debuted in the 2012 Paris Motor Show, it has a 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8, paired with the on-board electric motor will give you 903 horsepower and 664lb-ft of torque. Comes with a cool price tag of £866,000

Aston Martin One-77

With the Shirley Bassey singing “Goldfinger” on the radio, you could almost be forgiven for feeling like James Bond while driving the Aston Martin One-77 down the A1. This dapper supercar packs a 7.3- litre V-12 engine that purrs out 750 horsepower and 533lb-ft. With a top speed of 220 mph, you would be leaving any possible villains (and most police) far behind. This gem, will cost a mere £1 million, practically a steal.

Rolls-Royce – Celestial Phantom

This car is literally – Priceless. One of a kind, the Celestial Phantom was made in homage to the Rolls-Royce. This awe-inspiring display of opulence and excess has 446 diamonds inset into its interior, thousands of LED’s woven into the ceiling lining evoke a star-filled sky. As of today there is no listed price tag, but the general buzz is that since its diamond encrusted it will carry a very large price tag.


Jaguar XKR-S Convertible

Nothing says ‘sex-appeal’ like a Jag. The XKR-S Convertible has a 5.0 litre V8 Supercharged 550 engine. This Jaguar has its own powerful sound signature that will sing to you as you reach its top speed of 186mph. At £104,465, I would consider getting this in every colour.

Noble M600

While not as internationally known, Noble is a new boutique manufacturer out of Leicestershire. The hand- built M600, has a V8 engine with twin turbochargers. The boost is adjustable which means you can dial in horsepower from 450 to 650. With none of the bells and whistles of the Aston Martin or Rolls Royce, the Noble is purely for those who want to go fast. Really, really fast.

I agree with the old adage that if you are going to dream, dream big. Funding this little shopping spree can be easily done, if you are an heir to a fortune, or perhaps married to a rich spouse, but for the rest of us, the best opportunity to land a fortune is to play the lottery. With jackpots reaching as high as $400 million this year, my heart is set on the US Powerball lottery making my motoring dreams come true.
